About the Shop

My inspiration for the KRC shop lives in these photos!

I have the honor of being named after both of my grandmothers — Donna Joyce "Joy" and Donna Ruth. And yes, despite the name "Kat Rodman Creative," my legal name is Donna Katherine! Both women have inspired me more than words can say.

"Nannie," on the left, owned Joy's Hallmark Store in Richardson, Texas for 33 years! She was the queen of celebrating others and making people feel truly special! Every holiday and special occasion, she'd send us a box of goodies from the store that we absolutely looked forward to, and I used to walk in and spend hours lost among the cards and gifts. Growing up, I'd ask her if one day I could run the Hallmark Store — and opening this shop feels like carrying her legacy forward!

And then there's Donna Ward — or as I call her, "Gogo." If you know me personally, you've probably heard plenty about Gogo! She is truly the life of the party and the glue of our family. She loves like Jesus and is gifted with a rare kind of compassion. She has always encouraged my art and designs, and has kept a collection of my artwork in her bedside table dating all the way back to Pre-K. I promise those early pieces will stay safely tucked away in her bedside table where they belong — let's just say my skills have come a long way since Pre-K!

It is the greatest honor to carry their names and to open the doors of KRC to you. This shop is built on generations of love, celebration, and the joy of making others feel special!
